I have been seeing these acaí bowls for a long time now, and I never knew what they were, let alone the name of these popular breakfast bowls. After hundreds of pictures, I finally decided to try one out. I did not know exactly how to make one or where they sold this acaí product until one of my sister's friends told me that she bought the acaí berry blend pack at Costco. The next day I went and bought this pack of ten that came with the frozen acaí blend. Once I bought the pack, I could not wait anymore to taste this popular smoothie bowl. Let me tell you. This is ADDICTING! I have had one everyday for the past week. These bowls are not just delicious, but also fun to make because of the countless toppings and the ability to make your breakfast look picture perfect. Now, I will get to the recipe.
1 Packet Acaí (From Costco)
Frozen Bananas ( Freeze 1-2 bananas)
1/4 cup Almond Milk
1/2 Cup Granola (I usually make my own, but I didn't have any on hand so I used store bought. Make sure to read labels for no added corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup)
1 Tbspn Chia Seeds
Unsweetened Dried Coconut Flakes
1. First, before taking the frozen bananas and acaí packet out, prep your toppings because if not your acaí smoothie will melt quick and you will be left with soup. So dice your mango and strawberries, measure 1/2 cup of granola, and set aside.
2. Now, in a blender, throw in almond milk, frozen bananas, and one frozen acaí berry blend packet. Blend until blended NOTE: Make sure not to over blend because it can get watery quickly. The consistency should be thick.
3. Once blended pour into a bowl and begin to make it pretty with your toppings.
There. You are done. You see how simple it is! The simplicity makes me love these bowls even more. Remember, you can top with any toppings you like, these are just what I had in my kitchen that day, so go crazy, the toppings are endless. Hope you enjoy this simple recipe!
